National Museum

The National Museum is Finland's leading museum that collects, preserves and presents Finnish culture and history. It is located in the centre of Helsinki, where it shares a building with the Finnish Parliament.

Founded in 1893, the National Museum houses a large collection of Finnish artefacts, photographs, paintings and other artefacts that tell the story of Finnish history and culture. The museum also has several exhibitions on different periods of Finnish history, such as the Middle Ages, the late 19th century and the early 20th century.

The National Museum's permanent exhibition "Suomi 100" presents Finland's history and culture from the time of independence to the present day. The exhibition features a number of artefacts and artefacts such as Finland's first postage stamp and Mannerheim's military uniform.

In addition to the museum, the National Museum also has several outdoor museums around Finland, where visitors can learn about Finnish culture and lifestyle in different eras. The outdoor museums are open during the summer season and often host a variety of events and activities.

The National Museum is a particularly popular destination for Finnish and foreign tourists who want to learn more about Finnish history and culture. The museum also organises many events and exhibitions throughout the year.
