Spending leisure time in Finnish nature: a fishing trip to the Kvarken

There are countless ways to spend your free time in Finland, and one of the most popular activities is getting out and about in nature. Many Finns and tourists alike love to explore Finland's stunning national landscapes and natural wonders through a variety of activities. One sunny day we decided to head to the Bay of Bothnia for a fishing trip, which offered stunning scenery and exciting fishing experiences.

We landed in Kokkola harbour at dawn and immediately started to prepare the fishing chambers. We set off with an experienced fishing guide, who seemed to know the secrets of the Kvarken thoroughly. With fishing gear ready and sun shades spread, we headed towards the Mårten.

Our first activity of the day was fishing for perch near Karperö. The guide told us that the area is particularly known for its good perch fishing waters and that perch is one of the most common fish in the Baltic Sea. Perch fishing is a fun activity and is ideal for beginners and more experienced anglers alike. We enjoyed a long day on the water, and also caught a nice number of perch on hooks.

Once the perch fishing was done, it was time to move on to the next activity: renting a boat for a snowmobile ride. The archipelago around the sea cucumber is the perfect place for snowmobiling, and the scenery in the archipelago is second to none. Renting a boat and snowmobiles was easy, and the archipelago was waiting for us with its enchanting scenery. Loaded into the Salonkari boat, we set off on a drive through the ice-covered archipelago, enjoying the freedom of snowmobiling.

After spending several hours snowmobiling, it was time to move on to the last activity of the day - taking a sauna. For Finns, the sauna is an essential part of life, and it perfectly crowned the day in Merenkurku. There are numerous saunas in the Kvarken region, from which you can choose the one you like best. We decided to rent a portable sauna, which can be transported and set up wherever you like. At sunset, we enjoyed the gentle baths, threw ourselves into the cool sea water and let our everyday worries slip away for a while.

All in all, the day in Kvarken was full of unforgettable experiences and great experiences in Finnish nature. Perch fishing, snowmobiling and saunas offered something for everyone and promised a memorable day. Finnish nature is full of opportunities and activities, and everyone can find their own. Seashore is one of the many places that offers great moments and new adventures for locals and foreigners alike. I warmly recommend that you visit this magnificent national park and enjoy the wide range of leisure activities it offers.
